Past BIO Blitz Events:
2019
Every year, we hold a Bio Blitz at Lake Lagunita around Earth Day in Spring Quarter. Bio Blitz is a citizen science event where students and community members search Lake Lagunita for as many wildlife species as they can find. Plants, reptiles, amphibians, small mammals, birds, and insects are included, and the results are compared from year to year to see changes in local ecology over time. See our Gallery for photos from past Bio Blitzes!
For parents of students attending: If any concerns arise or you need to contact us during the event for any reason, please call.
SEEDS is committed to increasing diversity in ecology and environmental sciences by providing accessible ecology opportunities. We particularly invite people from minority, LGBT, low-income, and other marginalized backgrounds to attend, and strive to make BioBlitz a welcoming space for all. Spanish speakers will be available to help communicate ecology information in Spanish. For accessibility concerns, please contact [email protected]
